Main Street USA remains mired in economic depression as evidenced by: a) the long-term decline in real working wages; b) the long-term decline in real home values; and c) the long-term decline in the employment to population ratio. These indicators need to become the urgent focus of both monetary and fiscal policy in the US, or Federalism will risk decay or decline in detail. I urge everyone who knows someone who works in monetary or fiscal policy formation to forward this message to them in an effort to avert the end of Federalism as we know her.
